Judge William H. “Billy” Murphy of Baltimore to Keynote

Join us for an exciting evening of fellowship and entertainment to be shared by over a thousand of the most community-minded people in South Carolina.  Judge William H. Murphy, Jr. will be the keynote speaker.  Judge Murphy is a founding partner in the firm Murphy, Falcon & Murphy located in Baltimore, MD.  Judge Murphy is a noted civil rights activist and attorney for the family of Freddie Gray.  Receiving honors during the program will be Mr. Christopher C. Gantt of Charleston, father of Harvey Gantt (first student to integrate Clemson University); former US Attorney General Eric Holder, and the late Mrs. Sarah Mae Flemming, a predecessor to Rosa Parks, who served as plaintiff in the Columbia, SC case which was first to strike down segregated seating on city buses in America.  

The 2015 Freedom Fund Celebration will occur on Friday, May 29 2015.  Activities are scheduled to begin 5:30PM at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street.
